What’s in the box
Insemination rod, stainless steel, for Kiba Scope Cattle1×
✓ No plug needed✓ Fits Kiba Scope Cattle✓ 30-day returns, unused✓ Free tracked shipping
  • The rod from the box. The same stainless steel insemination rod that comes with Kiba Scope Cattle, made to feed through the port at the back of the grip.
  • Both straw sizes. Takes 0.25 and 0.5 ml straws, the usual sizes for frozen bull semen, so one rod covers both.
  • Fits the Scope sheaths. Goes inside the 70 cm Kiba Scope Cattle sheaths, the ones in the box and the spare bags.
  • A spare in the bag. A bent or lost rod should not stop a breeding morning. With two rods, one can be loaded while the other is in use.

Reusable: clean the rod after every cow. Sheaths are not included. A breeding tool for Kiba Scope Cattle, not a veterinary device.

Secure checkout. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay.

The part that carries the straw

A spare rod for Kiba Scope Cattle.

The insemination rod holds the straw and carries it through the probe to the cervix. One comes in the Scope Cattle box. A spare keeps the morning going if a rod is bent or lost, and lets a second person load while the first one breeds.

How the rod is used

From the straw to the cow

Gloved hands sliding a semen straw into the long steel insemination rod, a fresh sheath and a thaw bath on the bench
Load

Straw into the rod

Thaw the straw the way your semen supplier tells you and slide it into the end of the rod. A 0.25 or 0.5 ml straw both fit.

Gloved hands sliding the steel insemination rod into a fresh sheath on a paper towel, Kiba Scope Cattle behind
Sheath

Rod into a sheath

Slide the loaded rod into a fresh 70 cm Scope Cattle sheath, all the way to the tip.

Standing behind a Holstein cow: one gloved hand holds Kiba Scope Cattle under her tail, the other presses the insemination rod in at the steel port on the back of the grip
Inseminate

Through the Scope

Feed the sheathed rod in through the port at the back of the grip, line it up with the cervix by the picture and press the end slowly to place the semen.

After

Clean for the next cow

Draw the rod out, throw the used sheath away and wipe the rod and the probe clean before the next cow.

Ready on the day

Keep a spare in the bag.

Her heat is short, and a rod dropped in the straw or bent against a gate can end the morning. A spare rod in the carry bag means it does not.

  • Same rod as in the box
  • 0.25 and 0.5 ml straws
  • Fits the 70 cm Scope Cattle sheaths

Yes. It is the same rod as the one in the Kiba Scope Cattle box. For another make of gun, email info@kibaclub.com with a photo of your gun and its rod before you order.
Which straws does it take?
Both 0.25 and 0.5 ml straws, the usual sizes for frozen bull semen.
